Ministries

Lay Ministry plays a vital role in the worship experiences at Grace, providing parishioners with various opportunities to engage in our communal worship.

Acolytes include a Crucifer and two Torchbearers. Typically, the youth serve as acolytes starting around 4th grade.

The Altar Guild cares for the altar, vestments, vessels, and Altar linens.  Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services and clean up afterward on a rotating basis.

The choir rehearses weekly and prepares a weekly anthem for the 10:30 service and special music for liturgical celebrations. The choir provides leadership to the congregation during worship, offering cues for standing, kneeling, etc. Bill Herndon is the Organist-Choirmaster.

A/V Technology is new to our worship experience. These volunteers coordinate live streaming and recording the worship services on Facebook and YouTube.

Greeters are the welcoming committee and the first impression for those new to Grace Church. They answer questions and help newcomers get acquainted with other members.

Ushers arrive at church before a service to greet parishioners, pass out bulletins, receive the offerings, guide parishioners to Holy Communion, and tidy the pews after the service.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs) assist the celebrant with Holy Communion. LEMs administer the chalice of wine.

Lectors assist in services by reading the Lesson appointed for the day. Intercessors lead the congregation in the Prayers of the People.

The Holy Roller is our newest Ministry. If you need help getting from your car to the church, we have a 6-seater golf cart to assist you. Volunteers are needed to be drivers.

Flower Guild Ministry. One of our newest ministries is the Flower Guild. This group consists of creative individuals who enjoy working with flowers to create beautiful arrangements for our Sunday services, as well as for special receptions and gatherings.

Flowers for the Altar are donated every Sunday by persons wishing to honor or memorialize a loved one. You can sign up to provide the flowers by going to our SignUpGenius site:

Social Hour. Volunteers sign up to host the social hour after the 10:30 service. Parishioners and guests gather in the newly renovated Parish Hall for snacks and coffee or juice. It’s a good time to catch up with each other in an informal setting.
