Introduction— “You Had One Job”
Jesus gave us one job, John Pavlovitz explains, and that is to love God, others, and ourselves, and yet we can’t seem to get it right. In the introduction, he discusses the purpose of this book, which is to take a deeper look at our lives and our world to see why it’s so hard to love and consider ways we can do better. He believes that in our fractured, post-Covid world, we need the love Jesus preached more than ever. There is no better time than now to look deep within, to consider what we have always believed, and to ask if there might be a better way.
